The lights at night are amazing!!!!! The food and atmosphere and music was perfect. 2 for 1 Margaritas.......um yes please. We never waited for drinks, so I don't understand the reviews? I am soooo glad that I did not rely on the other reviews. Valentine was our waitress and WE will never forget her service and friendliness that made our trip such a great memory!!. I will be back for sure! Peggy Moss Visited June 2015 tripadvisor.com/ShowUser…

Cons:so many servers but no one seems to do anything ,wants to do anything or knows how : forever for food to come and don't have any questions cause they'll look you in your eyes and will not come to see what you want : hookah was decent bit they only give you one coal , don't really full up the bowl don't give you tongs, ect....I can go on and on .... Pros:food when it finally came was decent so for some wings , one person hookah,n glass of sentry I was charged with top included 50$ never again will we visit this place which loojs nice inside n out but staff is crappy

Okay drinks. They do have many specials though so the prices are not bad ... however I'd rather pay a little more. The lights are cool that's what attracts people to go in... The bathrooms are filthy and the service was pretty slow.

Ok place. Went at night so the decor was pretty. You have the selection of Italian and Mexican which sort of made me feel unsure Positive: great food. I had the chicken quesadilla and my husband had the burrito. Both were tasty. Also had a mojito mango beverage which tasted good. Good music Negative: very sensitive of cigarette smoke, so I moved to a table as far away as possible. High priced items (but hey it's south beach). they add a 18% gratuity to you order which I find bogus since service was pretty lame. Our server never checked on us when our order was sent to us and we ran out of beverages. When we wanted to leave and get to go boxes, we had to make our way to the bar to find someone to actually help us.

This is not the most efficient place in Miami- nor the cheapest. I ordered the Miami Vice Coronaritas and it was $42! I've been told other places can charge up to $65 but still .. that's hella expensive. The food was ok - I tried their calamari and their nachos. It a good place if you have a large group because it's never really busy so you can guarantee that your group will have a place to sit.

2-for-1! It's hard to find affordable drinks on the south beach, let alone at a prime location like at the Tequila Chica's. We sat down here on a quiet Thursday night before the storm (Labor Day Weekend!), and ordered a couple of drinks... The Mango Mojito and Caipirinha were pretty good.. and the best yet, 2-for-1. The atmosphere was really chill, and there were also big screen TVs around... we heard the bar tenders were hot, but didn't see any.. but our server was pretty nice.. it took a while to get them to refill the drinks, but that's ok... Drinks were relatively strong, and if you are with good company, this is a place to start your night..

Service was ok. Food came out quick friendly environment. Great for couples had 5$ nachos that were a step up from the movie kind. Also had chicken quesadilla and chix alfredo both were fair.

Horrible service, bad food and high prices. This sums up this restaurant. I had the Mexican omelette and the first time it was incorrect and the second time it was inedible. My girlfriend had the tacos and they were bad but at least she could eat it. It's a shame that all restaurants and bars includes gratuity in your bill. The service is going down hill. The prices were always high but now it's a guaranteed 20% more.

Went here to do Hookah one night. Pretty affordable for $18 Also had a couple of mojitos that were good. Cute atmosphere and good music. Only thing I ate was the spinach dip, which was pretty good except for the stale chips.

Stopped in for a quick beer after the fireworks this place is poppin!! I really like all the bars they own everyone is friendly that works here.

When you see the low ratings follow it people. We ate here out of convenience. First off, they didn't have carbonation for the soda machine, but told us this after serving us nothing but syrup as a Coke. The inside smelled like puke from the night before. I ordered the beef tacos with sour cream and was brought guac and asked the guy for sour cream that I ordered. He proceeded to grab into my food and get the gauc out and then brought me sour cream...rude and completely unsanitary!! We also ordered the spinach dip and not kidding about 20 chips came with the order. We asked if we could have more chips and our waitress said it would be $5.99 for more chips. We thought that was a little ridiculous and asked the speak to the manager. She then brought us more chips and said the manager said it was ok. After we finished and asked for our checks our waitress brought them back for us to sign and just stood there. I asked "are you waiting for us to sign our checks?" And she said yes. Ok so there went her extra tip! (18% was already included). STAY AWAY!

This place is at the corner of ocean drive. If you like the environment of ocean drive take some drink and smoke some hookah without leave all your money in ocean drive. We suggest you try this place the prices are half in drinks and hookahs. You can order food if you are hungry too.

Based on previous reviews was a little bit weary about going here. But let me tell you it Was a surprise. I ordered a chicken quesadilla amd my girlfriend order fish tacos. The quesadilla no lie, was probably one of the best I have ever had in many life! Super cheesy and loaded with chicken. The guacamole was delicious too. I also took a bite of my girls fish tacos they were delicious. I also ordered a long island ice tea and it was well prepared. The ambiance is really nice with chic outdoor furniture, music and good service. I would definitely come back here.

  • Matt W.

The service here is absolutely terrible. In order to get a drink after being seated and waiting for 15 mins my girlfriend had to up to the bar. Everything here is dirty... Especially the cushions. The venue is better at night. Seems to be more of the staff working nights, it's a ghost town during the day. Service at night still isn't great. The only thing it has going for it is the outdoor space. It's very spacious. The music is also pretty good.

  • Andrea K.

Great food! Like really really good. But the service (or lack thereof) truly ruined the night for us. Took forever for someone to simply greet us and take drink orders. Then we were never checked on once our food finally did come out. And about halfway through our meal, our server asked if he could bring us the check because he has to go home and be back early in the morning. Then when we asked if he could split the bill his reply was "no, not tonight." Seriously bad service, which is unfortunate because the food was delicious.

And in conclusion.... I thought, how could this place only have 2 stars? Well now I know. They only employ one waitress for 40 tables. We ordered the macho nachos that are supposed to have home made chips. I thought well they are $13 but they have home made chips. When they arrived it was obvious that they are store bought chips and although the menu didn't mention it, they had nacho cheese on them. Wtf, is this really $13 bowling alley nachos? Yup Hence, 2 stars. Edit: got the check and the nachos were only $5 Hence, change to 3 stars.

    (3)
  • Max p.

First the service was bad. Hookah was horrible! They only put one charcoal and for extra 4$ more u can't even start the hookah. They add service charge automatically, which was not worth it. Don't come Here!!!! Rip offff!!!!!!

  • Jennifer F.

One star, only because I have to rate it. Slow service, dull atmosphere... Nothing good to say. I did not order any food so I cannot comment. Truth is, you have so many places to choose from in south beach. Don't choose this place.

    (1)
  • Robert C.

This 1 star is even to much to give . The owner is extremely rude when I asked him to clarify the drink special that they offer and insulted me and my knowledge and spoke down towards me as if he knew better. Beyond the management the drinks were just OK but nothing special for Miami.

  • April C.

My family of four (2 adults, 2 children) ate here for dinner. The service was fast and exceptional. Valentina took very good care of us. She really made the experience wonderful. We hope she is there when we return (Yes, we plan to come back to eat here.) We ordered the chicken quesadillas and the fish tacos. Both were delicious. I would advise anyone who reads the negative reviews to give this place a try and judge things for yourself. I'm so glad we did!

  • Keyona D.

So the waitress was friendly, but couldn't multitask for anything. This ultimately made the wait longer for all her tables. The chicken nachos came with beans & they were not suppose to. So my friend had them remade. Only problem is it took the waitress 10mins to come get them and send them back. I was done eating by the time they finally came back out. Had to ask for soda refills several times. The best part about the place is that they were not overly pricey. 2 sodas, fish tacos, nachos, & chips & salsa was $35.

Great service and great drinks... :) Saw Dory from finding Nemo in the saltwater tank behind the bar...

This place was great in South Beach located right at the south end of ocean drive. The atmosphere was fun and their location was great. Outdoor seating so you can overlook the beach and ocean drive. They have quite a menu selection but we ended up getting some calamari, a hookah and some drinks. The margarita was excellent. They used sliver tequila and it had just the right amount of sweet and salt. The hookah was good too. We saw others get served huge margarita glasses to share. The service was great as well. Definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in south beach.

I cant even give this place a star! The only reason it got one was so I could post this. To start off we were seated quickly but then not even noticed for almost 10 minutes. Ordered our drinks and food and didnt get those for another almost 15 with no food because our waiter didnt put our order in. All he said was I have no help. We asked to move to one of their more comfortable seating. We were told when one was available we could just move. We did to a table that was dirty. We knew it would be... Anyways to get to the worst part we finally got out drinks and as I was drinking it I found a piece o glass. YES, A SHARD OF GLASS I ALMOST SWALLOWED. I sucked it up through my straw... When we told the waiter he didn't even care. To top that off I found a bug in my drink too (granted its outside). The drinks sucked the service sucked. When I got up to pay our bill because there was no one coming to take our payment (we should have just left!) The chic behind the bar took my payment to the waiter (I could have done that!) Annoying. Bottom line GLASS IN MY DRINK, CRAP SERVICE AND CRAP PRICES!

    (1)
  • Vanessa L.

Our bill came, we ordered ten chicken wings, should be price for 10 wings, but we are charged for 2 5 wings orders, which double the price, we were double charged for the cigar. this is unacceptable becAuse after we explained, the price didn't come expected. this needs to be escalated. We are two Asians here leaving at 11:03 pm.

  • Ryan T.

Substandard. Severely substandard. Servers take order, and bring check. Went to the bar to get a second drink. The place was dead. Serving us would have been easier than a self licking ice cream cone. Those big #southbeach style drinks are $35 here. AMERICAN. Don't even get the people watching of ocean ave. This area is quiet but I guess that's for a reason now! Pizza was good, calamari sucked, asked for a Good tequila up- they shook it on ice. Dafack? There's more fun places to be ripped off.

  • Wendy D.

Please!!!NO Stars. They make horrible food and sugary watered down drinks, and it's sickening to eat. I got so sick right after I ate there. They don't even use real cheese and its fake Mexican. So many better Mexican restaurants in SoBe. Use the bathroom here and go the beach.

    (1)
  • Archer R.

Terribly expensive drinks for subpar view while other spots around the block are 1/4 the price with better options and better views. Not good at all--

  • Veronica C.

Patio dining is nice for brunch/lunch. Drinks are average but they are buy one get one. Breakfast burrito is basically a tortilla with egg inside. With a hint of cheese and tomato. We also ordered the steak quesadilla which was all right. Nothing special here. I gave it three stars because of location, patio set up and people watching. And I enjoyed the hammock swing as well :-)

Skip it. On my first trip a couple years back the food and service were poor at best. It's a Mexican sports/hookah bar. An odd mix from the get go. Today we went into the bar at 7:20. It had a total of 2 patrons at a table, we sat at the bar and had three people walk by us behind the bar without so much as a smile. Finally, a bartender appeared and at 7:30 we had a couple beers in front of us. After my beer was empty she asked if I'd like a menu. I almost LOL. And the bill for two coronas was 16.38 including gratuity.

Hookah and great caipirinha while in Miami. Service is good - a bit slow to get the check. Overall a great spot to watch the fancy cars pass by and relax.

  • Desiree D.

Really cute place by the beach. Deff stop by if youre in this area. There are not many options for people that dont eat meat--so beware. To be honest, the prices arent amazing but they are not expensive. Ive been here mutliple times and their happy hour is what is great. They have food and drinks on the menu. The tacos on the happy hour are capable of being vegetarian friendly--so are the rice and beans & salsa.

Im not sure why this place has so poor ratings, to begin with its location is awesome, 2 minutes walk from the beach, We walked in around 6pm in the evening, after having our share of the sun and beach, very hungry. They have a italian as well as mexican menu. We preferred the mexican one, food portions were very good. They have indoor as well as sofa seating outside. We sat out, we were helped out with high chairs etc, seating was prompt. Service was good, I agree they were a little under-staffed, but I think we as well as the people in adjacent tables were there to kill time, they weren't there to grab a quick bite and leave. They do serve hookah, which explains the 5 star review. Overall we had a good time. Slightly pricey, but you pay for the location among others.

  • Brittany B.

Service was slow. Waiter was rude. Took an hour to bring us our order. When it can to paying the bill, he dropped off the bill and never came back, had to go to the bar to pay. Seemed like he didn't care since all parties are billed 18% gratuity anyways. Try to avoid this place at all costs!!!

This place was awesome, idk why it's got such a low review. Our waitress Luana was so awesome and personable. Definitely made the experience great. The fettucini Alfredo was good as well as the margarita I had.

I am so happy we decided to come in for happy hour. Brenda, the bartender is amazing! She made us some great drinks and was a pleasure to be around. Unlike every other place on Ocean, full of rude servers and bartenders - Tequila Chicas has great drink specials, reasonably priced/ good hookah and a welcoming staff. I can't comment on the food since we didn't get a chance to try it, but the pizza looked great. Forget paying a ridiculous amount for a drink at all those other tourist traps, this place has 2 for 1 specials during happy hour and the drink are only $12-$15.

    (4)
  • Juan L.

It's hard to find a place on South Beach that combines good service, cheap drinks, and a fun atmosphere. This place did just that. First of all, my girlfriend and I went on Saturday afternoon for their 2 for 1 drink special and our bartender was Brenda, who was sooo amazing. She made our drinks strong and gave great suggestions on drinks. We loved her so much that we came back again on Sunday. Brenda was there again and she made sure we had a great time. When we ordered a hookah ($19) she was kind enough to add a Long Island drink the hookah (at no cost) which gave it an extra kick. Thank you, Brenda!!

Let it be known that I was against this from the start. It was a big event weekend and I had people in town. It was late(ish). They were hungry/thirsty. Walking past TC, they were drawn in by the big tvs and location. I looked on my Yelp app and saw this was a 'Oh, Hay-ell naw! We'd best keep walking.' I was outvoted but, ultimately, I sipped the sweet sweet nectar of 'I-told-you-so' juice. This place is a hot mess and the star rating is completely warranted. Tourists to/of Miami Beach, i implore you: USE Yelp! Stop patronizing places like this. It's only when we vote with our dollars that things change. Knowing there's a new shipment of victims coming in on a weekly basis is what keeps these Collins and Ocean catastrophes afloat. So... my experience. As we walked up to the hostess, she greeted us with, "Ugh. My shift is almost over." I.kid.you.not. This was the way in which we were 'welcomed' into the business. Neck askew and eyes rolled, our gracious hostess led us to our table by gathering up two menus (there were three of us), pointing and grunting "here" at a table that had yet to be bussed. Klassy. I don't know whether it was the location, time of evening or time of year, but it was pretty chilly outside. When asked if we could move one of the portable heaters to us or if we could switch to a table with heaters, we were given the considerate answer of "No!" (complete with neck snap and eye roll). Doing my best not to respond in kind, we waited for our waitress. We waited... and waited some more. I could see the need for a long wait if TC's was crowded. It was not. Finally, the waitress arrives. I order a Purple Haze. My tablemates order drinks... and food. Food? Noooo!!! Don't you see how long this is already taking? I put my head down and then yanked it back up realizing the table had YET to be bussed! After twenty minutes the drinks came. After twenty more minutes the quesadillas came. "These are nasty," my friends exclaimed. Really? I'm shocked. I drank my cocktail like a shot in order to get out of there... but, wait... the wait. THIRTY-SIX minutes later (without a crowd/rush) we get our bill. Auto-gratuity (of course). Resort taxes (natch). By this time, my friends are annoyed, angry, tired, and cold. I was all of the same but fueled by knowing that I was right to not stop in to hell's waiting room. Maybe next time they'll listen. You should be listening, too.

Good spot and its right on the corner of Collins before you hit the main strip. The Curry shrimp and avocado salad is legendary. Also, if you have a thing for sexy chicas pouring straight tequila down your throat and letting it drip down you neck...THEN GO HERE around 2:30 a.m. on any night and see what happens! Not to active during the day, but hey who is...Thats beach time!!!

Excellent food, but slow service, no prices on menu for drinks. Took 20 mins to bring me an iced tea

So after a long day at the beach and before a fun night out, we stopped at Tequilla Chicas for their Happy Hour. We really only wanted jumbo sized margaritas, but all appetizers and drinks were 50% off so we went for some chicken nachos too. The nachos were big, thank goodness we got the sour cream on the side because it was a lot. Everything was pretty standard for a chain restaurant and not bad price wise. Two Margaritas and Nachos, about $15.00 They have super comfy rocking chairs which we rested in after eating our snack. It was pretty fun to rock out to music in a rocking lounge chair. We were in no rush anyway.

Unethical employees. They will take advantage you. Go to another place or a hole in the place.

  • Joelle A.

Probably the best price you can get for drinks on Ocean Drive. The drinks aren't great, but you can't expect much from $5 margaritas on South Beach. They definitely get the job done. The hostess was nice. FYI gratuity is included in the bill.

Horrible service and the food is TERRIBLE. Ordered two frozen drinks($28) and both were halfway melted by the time we received them. The food quality was very low for South Beach. Find a new spot

  • Amanda B.

Not the best spot we stopped in Miami. We only had an app but it was far from mouth watering. I would pass this place up for sure next time. Drinks are OK but I'm sure Miami had better places for a quick bite and drink.

  • Carolyn M.

The service was shameful, which is really too bad given the fun, beachy ambiance and great location. I ordered a margarita and a quesadilla. After a full hour, still no quesadilla. This isn't a complex recipe, people. I left without ever getting it, but the service was so slow I paid for it anyway, afraid I'd be stuck another hour waiting for my edited check.

This place is NOT WORTH IT! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My friends and I were on vacation when we DECIDED TO try this place out the waitress was horrible and very disrespectful. It took 15 minutes before she even came to ask what we wanted to drink and take our order. We sat in the outside area and it started pouring on us and they didn't even offer us to go inside. By the time we got our food it was almost an hour let alone it was horrible and tiny portions. Also charged extra for sour cream and salse.. and we didnt even ask for it. The place wasnt even busy only one other table next to us.They also charged us different prices from what was on the menu. After she gave us the check we were still eating and talking and didn't even give us time to pull out our money to pay she came back and said "you have to pay now I don't have time to walk back and forth and wait for you to pay." Are you serious?! What kind of customer service is that?! She also added her gratitude even though there was only 4 of us. This place is not worth it! If I could I would give them 0 stars!!

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and had nachos and a couple of Corona Lights. I sat at the bar. It wasn't all that crowded. I was watching some Rugby on one TV, and auto racing on another TV. Can't say that it was memorable, but I could see myself returning at some point.

Walked up and were just planning on checking out the menu, but a waitress walked up to us and was very nice so we decided to sit. She placed us outside next to another table of people. 5-10 minutes later she still had not come back. Then, a waiter came up to us and asked us if we wanted to see a drink menu. 15 minutes later he came back to take our drinks. Meanwhile, we're just sitting there waiting, contemplating leaving. We finally gave him our drink orders and it took !!20!! minutes to get them. Mind you, we were there int he middle of a weekday- the place was practically empty! How did it take 20 minutes?! The drinks had hardly any alcohol in them. I am a light weight, hardly ever drink. A glass of anything should get me at least buzzed. These drinks did nothing. And the bill for 2 drinks and a beer was 33+ dollars for SHIT service. We went somewhere else, got the same 3 drinks and food and paid less than that for better service. Will never go back.

    (1)
  • Harleen B.

Took me 5 mins to realize how horrible their service is..the bartender doing nothing wouldn't even look at you and talk only to whom she fancies.. I'd say give it a pass..lots of great bars down the street!

I've been at this place yesterday and have to say that had the worst experience in my life. The food was nothing special as well as the service but it is not about it at all. When I was leaving the place, I've left my iPhone 6 there and since me and my friend have been the last customers I was pretty sure when I came back that the staff will give it back to me. But they pretend that they have not found my phone. When I asked about the waitress who was serving us they told that they can't call her because she is probably sleeping after the working day. The managers also did not even care about this accident and they barely talked to me. All of them know that their customers are tourists and they don't care about their reputation at all since they know that people will leave anyway. I've been back to the place three times hoping that management will at least try to help my in my searches, but it didn't happen. I consider that they practically have stolen my iPhone considering their behavior or they were covering the thief. So, my warning for the visitors if this place to be extremely careful with your belongings! I have to rate with once star in order to post my review, otherwise Tequila Chica doesn't worth visiting at all! Alma, NY 04.13.2015

Located at one end of Ocean drive and steps from the beach. What drew us in was the young lady manning a booth on the sidewalk offering free shots of some kind of cool refreshing mango drink. This is your ideal spot to lounge in an open air courtyard, take advantage of the happy hour specials on libations of every kind and people watch. They've got the loud music playing. Happy hour $2 tacos. The waiters/waitresses were pretty good at checking up on us and making sure we had an endless supply of chips n salsa and that I had a drink as soon as the previous was finished. Spent a couple of hours there, sitting on the cushiony patio furniture, getting punk in drublic and watching the bikinis and booty pass by. The weather was great. Slightly cloudy so as not to get too sunburnt. It had a good vibe and I had a good time just sitting there.

My first time here and it had a lasting impression. I highly recommend it to all sport fans attending, with family, date, or friends. You can't beat the "two for one" drinks. Great indoor and outdoor area. Their menu has something for all. They even have an italian menu

We avoided all the Ocean Drive spots thinking we came upon a gem, Tequila Chicas (yes, Mexican food and margaritas, finally!). Great location at end (or beginning) of Ocean, comfy patio outdoor seating, Taquila Chicas had so much potential! "2-4-1 drinks, $5 nachos, $2 beef tacos" sounds good, lets do it! Dang, fell for tourist trap! Waitress had a perky personality, unfortunately kitchen was s l o w, 30min for nachos, 1hr for beef taco (a la quick taco mix box), drinks were too sweet (what's with the pre mixed syrup stuff? Yuk), how can you mess up a margarita! She tried to have the bartender fix it, but sorry that's not a margarita ("skinny" shouldn't have a mix, should be made with fresh lime, ingredients, not be sweet) AND the discount at bottom of tab wasn't accurate. She even offered to "break it down" when she brought the tab 'cause everyone complains about it, well it was off by $7-10. We did the math a few times after we left and it didn't add up, plus gratuity was added (that was not why it was off). To sit and waste precious time in Miami over a bill wasn't worth it.

The location was awesome! Kept walking past it when we were going to the beach so decided to give it a try! At first the service was awesome when they seated us then after that it was terrible. Flagged down our waiter an he didn't bother coming over, we needed to order more stuff but no one came to our table so we just asked for the bill and were ready to leave. Bringing the bill was even a terrible wait! Oh this place sucked. Food was ok. Nothing I will rush back for I have tasted better.

I stopped by this place during my trip to Miami a few weeks ago. Alright, I'm giving this place a 2.5 really, because of the location. It's totally touristy, but it's near the beach, so people watching is great - right on patio on comfy sofas. The chips tasted like they were out of a bag. Hello, even fast food places take the time to make their own chips nowadays, so boooo. The salsa was not terribly fresh or flavorful, and while my mango mojito had chunks of mango it in, it lacked mango flavor. Here's a tip. I'd prefer mango juice or puree instead of the chunks. I suggest sticking to bottled drinks here. Besides the location, the server was definitely a plus. He was fast, attentive, and super kewl. If you find yourself wanting something good to eat and drink while walking on Ocean Drive, this ain't it. But if you really just want a good view and chill time, this place is ok.

Be warned. Two jumbo frozen margaritas cost $90 w tax and tip. Identical drinks can be found 2 blocks down the street for $38 incl tax and tip. Highway robbery!!! And couldn't even be certain that alcohol was contained within.

Not a fan. Location is sweet,. They had some big TVs to watch. The ambience was blah. We ordered some Mojitos, but they were nothing special for Miami. probably one of the worse ones I had that weekend. We ordered some chips and salsa to snack on. The salsa was really watery and overloaded with onion. It seemed there was a 2 to 1 onion to tomato ratio.

Our server was great but we ordered a pizza. Was a bad choice- frozen pre made crust with blue cheese sauce (part of the sausage & blue cheese topping. Would not recommend this entree!

In the middle of a long day playing at the beach, I was tempted to try when they offered a spin-the-wheel game out front to get a variety of discounts, etc. Nothing really caught my eye, so I played it safe with some standard bar fare: Chicken nachos. My date went with some kind of salad. My review will be on par with the others. The food was bland, and her salad looked like crap. The decor is at best an interesting choice, but realistically just lame; the music is 90s pop (annoying), the service not anything special. I don't think I'll even go again to laugh at the terrible blandness of this place.

Very very poor service even though the waitress tried really hard... It was not busy at all...they have no fans like all the other spots around here... Our hookah had to be changed out a few times because they couldn't get it to work... They also charge for charcoals and since the waitress was going home she brought us the bill to pay even though we weren't leaving... Over all it left a very horrible impression....

Maybe it my sunny personality, but I actually had a good time here. LOL I mean the nachos were good and I enjoyed my drink. :) I've read the reviews and see that some patrons had a not so pleasant experience:( but I enjoyed the food and our waitress Jessica was pleasant!

Service is horrible literally HORRIBLE!!!! Hookah's even worse - at first pieces were coming out of that tube and mine wasn't working at all from the begging so they needed to change tube and my friend's did work for 5min and it did stop after, so they did the same . Well what it all means is that tubes were so dirty and stuffed with dirt that it plugged the tube. Also we asked how much hookah is she said 18$, which is normal charge, but she never said anything about charges for charcoals 4$each. - come on really??!?!?! . Chicken wings were good though .. That's why only 1 star. Seriously I expected something much better, ruined my mood , vacation fun time and all together. Will never ever ever recommend to come here.

My favorite restaurant that we went to while in Miami. We went during the day and our bartender was super nice. I think she was one of the owners, but I'm not sure. She was very attentive and we chit-chatted about Miami. I ordered the black bean taquitos and chili queso and chips. Everything was really good-- I was eventually dipping my taquitos in the chili queso and was in heaven. (the pepper jelly that comes with the taquitos is good too, though). There isn't a TON of mexican food on the menu, but I loved the food I got and my co-worker that came with me enjoyed his shrimp salad as well. I will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

We sat at a table and waited 20 minutes for a server, finally we walked up to the hostess and asked for 1. The table behind sat after us, and seemed to be known by the establishment got a waitress before we did. After seeing that we left the place.

My husband and I were wanting to go to a restaurant close to our hotel (Ocean Plaza), so we walked on over. There was a wheel to spin to see if we would win anything and we won a free tequila shot. The first thing that you notice with this restaurant is the great atmosphere and decor. The patio was almost like the perfect place to be for dinner in Miami. My husband and I both ordered the fajita wraps (him with chicken, mine with shrimp). We both absolutely loved them! They were so delicious that I plan on going back one more time before we leave. For $10 the fajita wraps didn't come with any sides, but we didn't feel hungry at all for the rest of the night, so they definitely will fill you up. As far as drinks: husband had a delicious Carlsberg that was on draught and the Long Island Iced Tea, I had the tequila shot and a fresh fruit margarita in mango. The Long Island Iced Tea was a smaller size than you might get at most other restaurants, but a little bit cheaper than most other restaurants so I guess that is why. The mango margarita was to die for! It tasted like a mango smoothie with a hint of margarita and alcohol. Husband said he couldn't taste the alcohol, but I have sensitive taste buds so I could very easily -- but I still enjoyed all of it because it was still probably the best margarita I've ever had. In summary: awesome atmosphere + delicious fajita wraps + to die for fresh mango margarita = one great dinner.

Should of known to turn around as soon as they tried to give us a table without asking. Service was very poor. They pressure you to order quick and on top of that they ran out of silverware. We had to eat with our hands because they were still washing it from previous guest. The restaurant was no where near full. The food is cheaply made and the only positive thing is it is a good location. Won't return to eat there again.

16% mandatory tip for a chicken burrito that's 16% chicken? Yeah, yeah Im probably spoiled by Rancho and Salsa Fiesta but this place was a disappointmnt as far as food. I stopped in with a friend visiting in, and got caught in a South Florida minute thunderstorm. Since we were by 15th Street, we figured to stop by for lunch. To their credit, the 11 oz margarita in the souvenir glass cup had a good amount of alcohol! I ordered their chicken burrito and my friend ordered the fajita wrap. Their presentation of sprinkling it with shredded Parm was original, but otherwise both dishes "looked the same", according to my friend. As we dug in, we found that they were indeed the same! Whether vegetables (hers) or refried beans(mine), there was hardly ANY chicken in either of them. Normally, this is something that would garner no tip but this is South Beach and the tip is always there - with the requisite additional tip line! This got a big fat 0. The waitress could have also been friendlier, so that's why this place gets just one star! (Oh, and none of the girls working today looked like the one in the picture :)

The staff wasn't friendly at all. The host was missing in action. We actually went to find her to get our table. The Host became frustrated when my friend & i made suggestions on where to sit. The food was tasty I had Spinach Artichoke Dip, chicken & shrimp fajita, blue margarita, and a mango margarita. I can't complain about the food. I hope this helps!

I came here for memorial day weekend, the bartender guy that was taking care of was really cool. He gave us good decent drinks since we were all veterans, we didn't really order food because we weren't hungry so I can't tell you how it was. However I did see people eating around us, and I did here that it was not tasty and pretty bland. Other than that it was alright.

I'm wasn't too sure why our local tour guide took us here, but when I received my half off margarita (or as I call it 2 for 1) it all came together. If you want a strong drink, this is the place to go. If I make it to Miami again, however, I would avoid this place if at all possible. The margarita, while strong, was almost undrinkable. Against our better judgement we ordered some food. It was blad bland bland. No me gusta. The service was pretty terrible as well. Our waiter was totally out of it and awkward at times. Stay away, unless you want to get sloshed.

This review is strictly based on a alcohol/pre-party happy hour mentality because lets face it, the food here sucks. You don't come here for a good meal or a well balanced drink. You come here for the sole purpose of walking out sideways with a smile on your face. This is probably the best happy hour spot in south beach. The drinks are usually poured with a heavy hand (if they are weak, just complain they always comply). $4 pretty-decent margaritas / $5 decent-mojitos from 4-7 everyday. On our last trip, my girlfriend found a clump of hair in her surely-canned guacamole ..and my watered down pecante salsa had a slight taste of a freshly marathon ran tennis shoe. The moral of the story is: YES come here and get drunk, YES you will probably get tipsy enough and brave enough to try some food, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter because where else in the tourist laden, weak drink laced land of SOBE can you receive a $4 decent margarita? the answer is nowhere.

If there was an option to not give any stars I wouldn't even give one! Horrible! Service sucks ... Dirty hookahs, charcoals additional cost which we were not told ahead and we did ask for the price. I will never go back.

Recently traveled to Miami and I must say, I enjoyed this spot for after-beach drinks. I never ate there so this review is for drinks/bar area. We happened to pass right by it on the way to our hotel each day, so it was conveniently located. Fun atmosphere, fun drink menu, good service. No complaints.

Went here just before game 7 of the NBA finals, place was busy as to be expected. I had the wings and steak while my wife enjoyed chicken. Drinks did take some time coming out. Food was decent but enjoyable. The environment was decent. I would go back and eat again.

Awful awful food, slow slow service, and bloated prices. Only good thing it has going for it is the outside seating. A tourist trap, nothing more.

  • Toya D.

Didn't peg this as a "tourist trap" trap AT ALL. We were greeted with FREE samples of (virgin) mango smoothies. My spinach dip and chips were really good. My orders of fresh fruit (strawberry, of course!) daiquiri were on-point. The waitress was a doll. No complaints here. This will be my first stop next time I'm in Miami.

  • Andrej M.

Went here to watch the Vikings football game and enjoyed the two large projection screens. There are many flat-screens as well. The loaded nachos hit the spot and the bucket of beer options are a deal for the touristy area. Do not expect fast service, the place is understaffed and not the fastest in getting food out. I did enjoy the friendliness of the waitresses.

    (3)
  • Andre M.

Favourite tourist trap #2 The ideal rating for this joint would be 3.5 stars. It's not great, but it isn't just A-OK either. Tequila Chica's promises something that it can't possibly deliver: fabulous exotic fruit drinks, sexy waiters and quality texmex food all for a reasonably low price. The end result comes up a little bit short. Watered down slurpees, passable food, slightly overweight waiters... all for a reasonably low price. But the whole atmosphere is very convincing and you kinda forget all these shortcomings and fully embrace the Tequilla Chica's experience. Mosly because the service is really good and the music is nice and apropos.

it's a shame to see the reviews below me but I had a great time at Tequila Chicas they have Huge HD screens from which I watched the Heat game--also the lighting around their courtyard was quite amazing and this guy server who was taking care of us did an awesome Job. He recommended the fajitas for me and another friend and they came out sizzling, when I put one together they were absolutely delicious--their guacamole was as if they had just made it, fresh and tasty I asked if it was premade but they said it was made in house--I strongly recommend the guacamole. the music wasn't too loud so I was able to have conversations. The server was very attentive and made sure my beer never reached the bottom. later the manager came out and greeted us and informed us that we would have a 10% discount next time we came with our receipt. I think I might become somewhat of a regular.

If the waitress wasnt so nice....I'd be giving this place a 1. We only ate here because I was about to pass out if I didn't eat something. (Hangover) This place is right before you get to pathway to the beach adjacent to ocean drive. The only thing worth mentioning is that they were out of lettuce, the shrimp ceviche is bangin', and so are the beef empanadas! Other than that....I probably wont go back unless I'm starving. The margaritas were good. This is probably a good place for drinks. It was packed when I went to use the bathroom.

This place had a cool atmosphere but beyond that, everything was pretty lackluster. They didn't have Stella (my favorite beer). When we were here, it was in the mid 40's so the outside heaters really helped warm it up a bit. My fiancee's "Sex on the Beach" was way too sour and had too much alcohol but the bar recovered by letting her exchange this with a different drink. I ordered a pizza, and it wasn't too bad. Overall, I don't recommend going here, you'll easily find something else better not to far from here.

I came here at around 6pm,The place is wonderfully decorated, the price was great and the drinks were strong, everyone at the table enjoyed their drinks and food. horrible experience, would never go back, and i would advise all you yelpers to never step foot inside. they had a sign advertising happy hour specials, so we went in and were seated. about 15 minutes later, a waiter gave us menus. realizing this was miami, and they people are slower down south, we just went with it. but when she never came back, and people who entered after us were getting thier food and drinks, we decided to walk out. we wasted about 30 minutes there, just waiting. and the place wasn't busy at all, just the waitresses talking amongst themselves.

Went here a couple of years ago and this review is more based on the dining experience not the bar... Their nachos are huge and don't disappoint... the place is nice and on a quieter part of Ocean Dr and the openness makes sitting there enjoyable - compared to the overcrowded places on the drive itself...

intended to go to dolce next door, but saw the massive crowd, and didn't feel like fighting to get into a club. and like most of the crowd here, it seemed like everyone here also had the same idea as us. for the crowd fact, it would probably get a 4, we found some very friendly and nice people here. drinks weren't that good though, and also weren't that cheap. other than the crowd, i can't really say much for the rest of the bar etc etc. for that reason it gets a 2. but a good "oh hell no theres no way in hell im fighting in that crowd to get into dolce, lets grab a drink here before we move on down the street to delano hotel"

Do NOT be confused, this is NOT REAL MEXICAN FOOD!!! I was in South Beach visiting with a friend when we got rained on and decided to head to the nearest covered place, it was between Tequila Chica's and some Wing's place, how I wish we had chosen the Wings! To begin with, the service was crap! As my friend mentioned to me when you don't have to work for a guaranteed 16% tip, you don't care about customer service. But regardless of the crappy service, the food was even worse!! I am from Houston, Texas and KNOW what real Mexican food tastes like!! I didn't have much expectations for an amazing Mexican meal, being realistic, I am in Miami, aka Cuba Land, but this wasn't even decent. I ordered a Chicken Fajita Wrap that had more grilled peppers, spices and Parmesan cheese, (yes I said Parmesan cheese and Chicken Fajita Wrap in the same sentence, see where I am going with this...) than actual chicken. I felt bad for my friend, his chicken was hidden in a massive pile of beans that by the looks of it, looked like someone just opened a can of refried beans and smothered it in between a grilled flour tortilla sprinkled with finely diced chicken and yes, PARMESAN cheese. The only thing I can say that was good about my meal was the 11oz Pineapple Margarita I had in my souvenir glass.

Out of towners are always happy when I bring them here (only for drinks) so I continue to bring them (I think its the name). The service is ok, the food should only be used as drunk food, and the 2-4-1 makes no sense. You need a ticket? Per person? You didn't tell us though? Tip included? Of course. Whatever, if it makes my friends happy then I will continue to go (for drinks) but when it's just me and other locals we shall be going elsewhere.

I actually enjoyed this place. Stopped in for a late afternoon snack and drink. The el diablo margarita is tequila-filled heaven. The mango one was tasty, though I stupidly wasn't thinking it was going to be frozen. I prefer my 'ritas on the rocks. Also got the queso, and the bean taquitos. Those taquitos were delish. Even better washed down with a few more el diablos.

I went to Tequila Chicas about a week ago and I ordered a Red Bull and Vodka. I took a sip while she was making my friend her drink. When she came back I told her that I didn't taste the vodka so asked her if maybe she can remake it for me. She said " You should taste it cause I have a heavy hand" and turned away. I was very disappointed cause I really liked the outside seating. PS Both drinks came out to be $30.00!

was only there for apps and drinks (margs). so i cannot speak to the MEALS available. Great placce to hang out and have cocktails. We had margs, queso and the spin dip. The queso is a CRAZY YELLOW color and suprisingly GREAT! Spin dip is OK. Margs was good. Great patio and location to the hotel we were staying at.

I went to Tequila Chica's about a year ago with a group of friends. We sat outside and were handed sticky menus encrusted with pieces of yellow rice. At the time, there were one or two tables of diners also outside. There was no one seated inside. After a long while, and waterless, we finally were asked our drink orders. We all asked for water and various margaritas, and were brought only the margaritas. We ordered food, and when it came it was served on styrofoam plat es. Which is great if there is no running water to wash dishes or something, but bad for the environment. Plus, given the prices, I can't really justify why on Earth we were served on styrofoam. Cutting into a burrito with a knife on a styrofoam plate is really an obnoxious experience that takes the fun out of eating. Try it sometime! My burrito was wrapped in a dry tortilla, and had the texture that a burrito gets when it's been microwaved. It was also covered with a speckling of Parmesean cheese. One would think it was queso blanco or queso fresco, but i assure you it was Parmesean cheese, freshly sprinkled from a Kraft can. Trust me. I eat a lot of cheese. My vegetarian friend ordered beans that were so dense they could have been used to hold the cement bricks together that made up the building we were in. To put it short, it was awful. When we paid the bill, somehow we owed i believe $230. Which was crazy because we were all still hungry, and still needed margaritas because the ones we had were watered down to Slurpees. Of course our waitress got her obligatory included gratuity, which explains why she was MIA the entire time when we needed refills, or lime wedges, or another fork, etc. If she knows she's going to get her %18-%20 no matter what kind of service we receive, what's the point in putting forth any effort? Any time we needed something I had to get up and go inside the restaurant, where she was talking to the bartender, and ask her if she wouldn't mind giving us a straw/napkin/barf bag. Tequila Chica's was terrible, but I'm giving it 3 stars because honestly, I should have known better.

Food and drinks were very average. The location, even though its steps from the beach, its placed such that you cannot even get a glimpse of the ocean. Went there during happy hours and got 2 drinks for $8, that was the only good part. Got the grand nachos and that didn't even come with guacamole. Nothing exciting about the place. NOT RECOMMENDED!

  • Jon K.

We came here because we felt like having some margaritas and some Mexican food. We ordered some things that sounded good - Jalapeño Poppers, Chili Queso and some tacos. It was taking a long time for the apps to show up so we ordered some chips and salsa. It was clearly Pace Picante sauce from a jar and bulk chips from Costco. After waiting another 15 minutes for the something to arrive, the apps finally showed up (35-40 minutes after ordering). The poppers were ok. Probably frozen and heated up but at least they tasted good. The Chili Queso tasted like Hormel Chili from a can with some bagged cheddar cheese thrown on top. NASTY! Why did it take so long to warm up a can of chili? Then the tacos came and they were ok. Not great but ok. I don't recommend eating here unless you are drunk or have no tastebuds. Nothing fresh all canned and processed.

They do indeed have an impressive list of tequilas on the menu, but the margaritas we had were watered down and pretty flavorless. There is a happy hour from 4-7 MON-FRI where all drinks and appetizers are half-off, so it made it worth the value, but the ceviche had very little shrimp - and the empanadas were definitely frozen-then-thawed. The service was mediocre. I don't think I'll be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
